Honeybees and caretaker

Join us on April 1st at 12pm to hear more about the important role bees play in our ecosystem and why they are so important!

The world is seeing a decline in honeybee. As pollinators, bees play a part in every aspect of the ecosystem. They support the growth of trees, flowers, and other plants, which serve as food and shelter for creatures large and small. Nicholas Melka will be discussing the importance that bees play in our fragile ecosystem and how the decline in bees affects our environment.

About Our Speaker

Nicholas’ journey

Nicholas Melka

Nicholas Melka was diagnosed with Lyme disease when he was in University and was referred to specialist after specialist and was prescribed over one thousand pills in an attempt to cure his disease. Tired of the excruciating pain, medication, organ damage and frequent hospital visits, he turned to Eastern Medicine. After being recommended and consuming unprocessed honey, his life began to change within a matter of days. He was so inspired by the healing properties of honey and bees that he decided he had to have his own hives, and so began his journey.

Miel MTL’s was founded in 2015 by Nicholas with the mission to help bring back the bees. He gives talks for communities, schools, universities and businesses about the importance of bees and the effect they have on our ecosystem and life itself. Nicholas works with restaurants, schools, families, hospitals, businesses and organizations to maintain 110 beehives in 66 areas across Montreal & Quebec.

Nicholas's mission is to help bring back the bees and focus on a raw and sustainable approach to both honey production, beekeeping and helping improve the environmental conditions in which we live.
