About Our Speaker
Cathy Keays

Cathy joined the WASM in April of 2014 and on the Board in July. She became president in 2016. The WASM’s 125th anniversary was coming up in 2019, and she had the idea to write a history of the group in time for this occasion. Research was at the McCord Museum Archives Library from January 2017 to the end of 2018, followed by 10 months of writing.
The book came off the printing press by January 27, 2020. After having written this book, Cathy realized her true passion was in documenting information. She plans on writing several other non-fiction books in the near future. One note: her book, “The Women’s Art Society of Montreal And Its Place in History 1894-2019” was not an official WASM book supervised by the WASM board. It was a personal project of hers, of which she had written permission by the WASM board to write and publish on her own.
You can find the book on Amazon, or you can contact Cathy by email to get a copy or ask any questions. Cost of the book: $25. Cost of the E-book: $2.50.
