About Our Speakers

Ann Lambert

Ann Lambert is the author of the critically acclaimed Russell and Leduc Mystery Series, The Birds That Stay, The Dogs of Winter and Whale Fall. She has been writing, directing and producing for the theatre for 40 years, most recently with her Montreal-based company, Theatre Ouest End. She retired after 30 years of teaching at Dawson College, and is the former head of the playwriting program at the National Theatre School of Canada.

Ann is also the vice president of The Theresa Foundation, dedicated to supporting orphaned children and their grandmothers, the education of Malawian girls, and alleviating food insecurity in several villages in Malawi.

Sandra Cohen-Rose

Sandra Cohen-Rose, author of Waskaganish and its compelling sequel, Dangerous Dancing, is a passionate storyteller—who garnered 5-star reviews for her first work of fiction—hailed as "Multi-Faceted Feast, a cleverly contrived, fast-paced story…”

With a rich tapestry of characters and a thought-provoking narrative, Sandra seamlessly weaves through her stories her ethical and social justice concerns cultivated during her 15-year tenure on the McGill University Medical Ethics Committee, chairing the Dietitians of Canada Consulting Dietitians group, and presiding over the Montreal Council of Women and the National Council of Women of Canada.

Her deep appreciation for architecture led to her groundbreaking work, Northern Deco - Art Deco Architecture in Montreal, the first book on Canadian Art Deco—also, her contributions to other books, extensive travels, lecturing on Art Deco, and chairing the International Coalition on Art Deco Societies.
