The flu shot and Covid-19

Published on October 19, 2020

In the midst of a global pandemic, it is more important than ever to listen to medical experts and protect yourself against the flu. The MCW remains concerned about the limited access to the influenza vaccine, its lack of harmonization, scheduling issues, and costs.

This year, the federal government will provide free flu vaccines to seniors living in long-term care facilities. For other individuals, the flu vaccination falls under provincial government implementation. This year, more people will benefit from free flu shots. Seniors over 60 are eligible for free vaccination.

Given the high demand for flu vaccination this year, it is advisable to book an appointment as soon as you can. Please check with your local CLSC, your doctor's office or with your Pharmacy.

Check government sources for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
