Relief for Ukraine

Published on April 13, 2022

It has been a challenge to keep up with information dealing with the tragic war in Ukraine. Many are left wondering what one can do to help refugees coming to Canada or help with the needs of those left behind in their war-torn country. The majority of those remaining in Ukraine are men, and understandably it is predominantly women and children escaping to safer havens outside of Ukraine. It is heart-wrenching to witness how families have been torn apart, separated from loved ones, and not knowing who will survive.

The Canadian government, along with community and religious institutions, are stepping up to address the needs of those arriving in Canada.

Information about the donation of goods for Ukraine is constantly changing due to evolving needs, storage facilities, and transportation costs. Here is an attachment and table with information about different charities and resources, including several handy links about donations of money, goods, and volunteering for various needs of the local refugee effort.

Please consider supporting the people of Ukraine as they resist Russia’s unprovoked invasion.
