MCW Fighting Racism and Discrimination
Published on September 22, 2025
On Friday, September 19th, MCW met with the newly appointed City of Montreal Antiracism Commissioner Maty Diop as part of a group of seven representatives from diverse Montreal community groups. We were invited to present our concerns on minority rights, racism and discrimination and how these impact our Montreal community. The meeting was very open, and we were warmly received and our presentations noted. We all left with the understanding that we would have other opportunities to meet and work together towards viable and actionable solutions.
MCW was represented by Miranda Potts, MCW President and Linda Serpone, MCW Past President. NCWC President and MCW member Penny Rankin also attended and addressed the issues from an International and national perspective.
Linda Serpone, Past President made the presentation on behalf of the MCW. You can read the English and French version here.
