Your Voice, Your Vote - Make It Count on November 2
Published on October 22, 2025
Dear Members,
Municipal elections are coming up on November 2, and once again, we have an opportunity to shape the future of our city. Unfortunately, voter turnout in past elections has been abysmally low — a reminder that too many voices go unheard when decisions are made about our neighbourhoods, services, and daily quality of life.
Each one of us can make a difference. By casting your vote, you help ensure that local priorities reflect real community concerns — housing, transit, safety, green spaces, social equity, and more. Equally important is holding our elected officials accountable once ballots are counted. Follow up on the issues that matter to you. Ask questions. Attend council meetings when possible. Stay engaged in open communication with those who represent us.
Before you vote, take a moment to learn about your choices. Listen to the debates, read local press coverage, and compare candidate platforms. Thoughtful participation strengthens democracy and helps ensure the promises made during campaigns are turned into concrete action.
Let’s show that our voices matter. Let’s make this election one where engagement and turnout reflect the energy and care of our communities.
See you at the polls on November 2 — and beyond.
Warm regards, Montreal Council of Women (MCW)
