CBC News Release: Montreal Mother, Organizations Raise Alarms Over Gender-based Violence After Teen Girl Stabbed

On October 23rd 2025, Past-President Linda Serpone delivered Montreal Council of Women's statement on Violence Against Women and Girls in Montreal, at the press conference, in support of a mother and daughter following the attempted murder of a young student outside her school in NDG. Amongst the 7 community representatives were MCW Federates Ally (Alham) Mahmod, Executive Director of Women Aware, and Shaheen Ashraf, National Board member and treasurer of the Montreal chapter of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW).
